We all share the virtue of wanting to love and to be loved.
That’s a good thing. We should accept and celebrate love in all of its many forms.
Pride Month is an opportunity for such acceptance and celebration. It also serves as a reminder of the resilience and tenacity of the LGBTQ+ community, which continues to demonstrate the importance of fighting for what is important in life. SingleStore stands with this community.
Acceptance, celebration, and challenging the status quo make the world a better place for all of us. But there is still a lot of work to be done around the world so that people can love who they want without discrimination, fear, or feeling they must be apologetic about it. Every one of us needs to engage in that work to create and reinforce a more loving and inclusive society.
Social responsibility is based on equality, love, and tolerance. As contributing members of society, we all have to embed these values into the very fiber of our existence – in every move we make, every step we take, and every word we say.
In the workplace, if there is behavior that you would not accept in your personal life, speak up. Come to the conversation from a place of love. But let’s not accept the unacceptable.
As we commemorate the LGBTQ+ community’s hard-fought battles and celebrate its spirit and successes this month and into the future, the fight for equality and inclusion will go on.
But love is love. And love is worth fighting for.
