Is MemSQL available for AWS? If it is, does it support unlimited (or atleast petabyte) storage with row/column store configurations?
Just a quick note. We’ve rebranded from MemSQL to SingleStore. Knowing that should help when you do your research about features like unlimited storage outside of the forum. You can absolutely get SingleStore right off the AWS Marketplace. You can also use our Manager Service and deploy it on AWS through that interface. All the newest versions of SingleStore support S3 storage thus can scale to a petabyte. I hope that answers your questions, if not, let me know.
Thank you. I got a follow up question. Will there be any performance degradation with S3 as backend storage if a distributed (multiple EC2 instances) process is reading and writing millions of financial transactions using Apache Spark?
Anytime you talk about the performance of anything that’s a hard answer to say across the board. You’ll have to do some of your own tests there, unfortunately.
