Uninstall SingleStore completely

I am having an issue installing Cluster in a Box on my local RedHat DEV machine. I have created a Staging environment on the Azure Cloud using a VM running CentOS and Cluster in a Box. I am trying to duplicate that in my DEV machine.

I am getting some licensing issues on my DEV box (free license) that I believe are related to having uninstalled components of a prior install. Can someone point me to where I can learn about completely uninstalling SingleStore so that I can redo my DEV installation?

Hi Manoj, welcome to our community forums. What version are you running?

Hi Maria,

Thanks for the welcome. I am running the most recent version (released a few days ago).

It was suggested to me to try the following
destroy-cluster (singlestore.com)

However, that did not work so I did the next best thing and reinstalled the OS. I am trying to get the Cluster-in-a-Box sorted out tonight on my DEV box. My machine had 2 installations run and then some ‘unregister node’ operations run. So that was maybe why the DESTROY-CLUSTER command did not work for me.

Thanks for the info Manoj!

The ‘sdb-deploy destroy-cluster’ command will delete all data, delete all nodes, uninstall all singlestoredb-server packages, and unregister all SingleStore DB hosts.
They can also try the uninstall command to uninstall ‘singlestoredb-server’ package from your host(s): uninstall · SingleStore Documentation
There is also the ‘sdb-admin delete-node’ command to remove SingleStore DB node(s) on a specific host: delete-node · SingleStore Documentation

Hope these links are helpful. Please keep us posted on how it goes. Thanks :dizzy:

Your response was very timely,

This Linux novice just completed installing the SingleStore cluster in my DELL Precision machine. I had a lot of issues such as the machine having too many CPU’s for the Cluster-in-box license, too small swap file, etc… Just got all of these issues resolved and now looking forward to migrating and developing my IoT solution on SingleStore.

BTW - I disabled one CPU on the BIOS and added a new swap file using an external NVMe drive (temp solution)
